Workshops

Introduction to Aerials Workshop

This is a single class workshop for beginners that introduces students to the basics on Aerial Fabric, Static Trapeze, and Hoop. No experience necessary, only a basic level of physical fitness is needed. This workshop is best suited for adults and older teens. This class is an opportunity for students that are new to aerials to try it out with no commitment to a full course.

Aerial Program

Our Adult Program Runs Year long curriculum with monthly tuition payments. Students chose their class and apparatus and attend that scheduled class time once a week. Students may chose to enroll in multiple classes per week. While we encourage a consistent training schedule throughout the year, students can make changes to their schedule or drop a class by the 15th of the month to go into effect for the upcoming month. There is no commitment to stay the full year though you will automatically be re-enrolled monthly until or unless you request a change.

New students can sign up for any Level 1-2 class in the apparatus of their choice. There are no pre-requisites for these classes. All students are welcome! If a class you want is full please make sure that you enroll on the waitlist and we will contact you when a spot opens. The -My Account- tab will take you to our booking system.

Sling (Levels 1-4)

Aerial Sling is an Aerial Fabric apparatus rigged into a loop. While it can become very advanced, it is beginner friendly because the loop helps support students weight as they build strength in the air. Our Slings can also be adjusted to a lower height which makes them the best place to start for beginners that are looking to focus on building strength. Please note that aerial Sling is very different from aerial yoga.

Hoop (Levels 1-4)

Aerial Hoop is a Metal Circle suspended in the air. Lower level students will focus on building strength and flexibility while learning tricks and poses under and in the bar. More advanced classes with explore the level above the hoop and in the span set while diving into more dynamic movements and drops.

Fabric (Levels 1-4)

Aerial Fabric is split fabric that hangs down into two tails. A knot can be tied for beginners to help build strength. Newer students will start by learning to climb and do footlock based skills and basic inversions, all while building strength and flexibility. As students advance they will learn sequences, drops, and more dynamic skills.

Trapeze (Levels 1-4)

Static Trapeze is a metal bar suspended by ropes. Static trapeze does not swing or spin. It stays stationary while students learn to twist up into the ropes and use the bar. This apparatus is great for students that enjoy the challenge of aerials but are not a fan of spinning.

Open Practice

Open practice allows for current students to get more practice time on the equipment. This is a supervised open practice and does not have an instructor leading the class. Students must be currently enrolled in a course to participate in open practice. This is designed for students to practice what they are learning in class and is not appropriate for learning new material.

Ground Courses

*Due to Covid-19 Ground Classes are now being held online through zoom. While we look forward to bringing them back in person we are excited to bring an in-home option to students during this time.

Acro Flow (AcroDance)

Ground Classes are currently mixed level and instructors will give adaptations to fit each students needs. Acro flow is a class that focuses on teaching ground acrobatics in a specific way that allows acrobatic tricks to fuse seamlessly into other movement arts. The first part of class works on acrobatic foundations such as handstands, cartwheels, rolls, limbering, bridges, and splits. The class then focuses on ground movement theory and flow, fusing basic dance principles into the skills we develop from acrobatic movement training. Students develop flexibility and strength while focusing on their lines and poses. Ascend Flow Arts is an Acrobatic Arts Certified Studio.

Acro flow can be taken alone but is also a great class to supplement aerial training as it builds a balanced body by utilizing the pushing muscles to develop along with the pulling muscles needed for aerial work. This class will also drastically improve flexibility, strength, and the students ability to create pleasing shapes and lines in the air.

Acro Yoga

Acroyoga is a fusion of yoga and partner acrobatics. It’s a fun way to build strength and communication through movement. Refine technique that can be used on the ground or in the air and learn how to work in tandem with others. As we journey though poses, we will learn how to sequence them into flows. Acrobatic Yoga is a great way to learn how to perform partner stunts and have a good time in the process. All levels welcome. Join us as we expand our skill sets! No experience or partner required!
